Marybell Cruz was born on October 14, 1963 in Barquisimeto, Venezuela and from an early age identified with artistic vocations. After taking private art classes, Marybell began formal art training in 1984 at the Martin Tovar y Tovar School of Art in Barquisimento where she studied Painting and Sculpture. She completed a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Arts and Photography from the Cristobal Rojas School of VIsual Arts (Caracas Venezuela) in 1989. Marybell owned an art studio in Anaco, Venezuela where she taught art to school children. In the U.S. she taught art to school children as a teacher's assistant and worked as a studio photographer in McAllen, Texas. Her art has been shown in expositions in the AVAP Gallery in Barquisimeto Venezuela, the Municipal Gallery in Chacao (Caracas Venezuela) and in Ruta Maya Coffee Shop collective (Austin Texas), and her work has been part of many other collective expositions.
